Whut up? This.

I had all sorts of idea for this, my lovely blog, during the week and all of fled from my head as soon as I sat at the computer.  So, instead, I looked at the internet to figure out some of the things I'd do on my upcoming vacation.

What I decided:
1.   A boat cruise is in order!
2.  Hard-boiled eggs and a banana from 7-11 for breakfast!
3.  Tokyo Skytree may be visited!  They let foreigners go to the front of the line -- really? why? -- but only if the foreigners bring their passports and pay over $40 -- that's why.  I'm still thinking and it is very, very tall and there is a glass floor and I can get twitchy when up high.  Glass floor?  It's making my palms and feet sweat thinking about it!  But I will suck it up, shut up, and enjoy it if I go.  Who am I kidding?  This is something I really do want to do and, yeah, if I don't have to wait in line, I am for it.
4.  Noodles?  More, please.  My fave place (so far) is Rokurinshin and they have a morning dip which is tsukemen (pronounced "skimmin'") at 8am in their original location.

5.  Pokemon GO will be played.  There will be raid battles and I will join the groups that I see gathered that can be acting the way they are for no other reason than a raid battle.

I want to go NOW but I can wait four weeks.  I've already waited five months.

Who's that dame?

It has been many, many weeks since my last post and apparently I've not been missed. That is okay! Things have happened since my last attempt. Teranofuji won the May Basho -- if he wins in July, his Yokozuna status is assured -- and as of tomorrow I will be working 40 hours a week. Have you seen the gallinule?

American purple gallinule, courtesy of VIREO Yesterday morning I set off with the birders to look at birds at the Magic Hedge near Montrose Harbor in Chicago.  As we were arriving, I found out a gallinule had been spotted very recently.   Two men were walking away from the harbor as we were leaving our car.  "Did you see the gallinule?" my sister asked. These were two very sweet and funny guys.  "No," said one, "but I saw a really big fish," and held his hands about 20 inches apart.  "I don't look at fish," said the second, "but I saw a grebe.  The gallinule is supposed to be down by Slip A."
