Game of Thrones is over for real

The internet blew the fuck up when "Game of Thrones" didn't end the way people wanted it to end.  Bran the Buzzkill is now the king and it ended the way it was supposed to end.  Prior to this season, did you watch the show to NOT have a Blood Wedding?  Were you requesting a seasonal redo when Dany's brother got his gold crown, albeit a molten one?  Did your panties get all in a twist because Jamie Lannister's hand was chopped off?  Did you run your head into a concrete wall because Tyrion killed his dad while his dad was having a poo?  No!  You went with the story!  You didn't know how it was going to play out and it played out and then you complain about it?  Weird stuff went on for eight seasons.  Jon was killed, dead gone dead, and brought back to life.  The Red Woman gave birth to a demon in a cave.  Khaleesi burned all the Dothraki leaders to a solid crisp to get the Dothraki populace to follow her in the most expeditious ...

NO MORE GAME OF THRONES!!!

Tonight it's over.  All the speculation, predictions, and weird ideas will be spawned no more.  Tomorrow at work, the winners of the Pool of Thrones will be announced and I am confident that one of those will not be me.  Either Jon Snow will win or Dany will win or, as someone predicted in one of the too-many articles and opinions I read this past week, Tyrion will be revealed to be the child of the Mad King and his Lannister mom who had a "mad" affair and the result was Tyrion, the knowledge of which is brought to us by Bran on one of his mad, bad trips back through time.  (Dude's a buzzkill, let's agree.  He can't go back in time and see someone telling some really good jokes which he brings to the present and slays a crowd at the Kings Landing Laff Academy?)  And Tyrion makes it a ... democracy!  Or someone altogether unexpected takes over.  Or Sansa and Tyrion fall in love for real and rule together. Last week would have been five minutes lo...

So last week got away from me

So caught up was I in Season 8, Episode 4 of "Game of Thrones" that the week got away from me.  I had all sorts of predictions for Season 8 and submitted those to the pool I am in, called "Pool of Thrones."  At the end of last week's episode, out of about 25 choices, I had all of three right.  By the end of the season I should have tanked spectacularly. Each week I have a different thought as to how things might end up, quite different from my predictions for the pool.  Week 1, I thought Sansa might win.  Week 2, I thought Sansa still might win.  Week 3, Sansa and Tyrion would reunite and rule together as king and queen.  Week 4, it will either be Sansa and Tyrion or else Cersei will prove herself too mean to die and will continue to rule as the walking embodiment of a bitch on wheels.  We've all know cantankerous old people who don't seem to get sick and don't die until they are very old and they are just nasty and bitter and mean every s...
