Game of Thrones is over for real
The internet blew the fuck up when "Game of Thrones" didn't end the way people wanted it to end. Bran the Buzzkill is now the king and it ended the way it was supposed to end. Prior to this season, did you watch the show to NOT have a Blood Wedding? Were you requesting a seasonal redo when Dany's brother got his gold crown, albeit a molten one? Did your panties get all in a twist because Jamie Lannister's hand was chopped off? Did you run your head into a concrete wall because Tyrion killed his dad while his dad was having a poo? No! You went with the story! You didn't know how it was going to play out and it played out and then you complain about it? Weird stuff went on for eight seasons. Jon was killed, dead gone dead, and brought back to life. The Red Woman gave birth to a demon in a cave. Khaleesi burned all the Dothraki leaders to a solid crisp to get the Dothraki populace to follow her in the most expeditious way possible. Arya became a teenage assassin with great skills as a tanner. The King of the Night seems to be the sole owner/operator of a hardware superstore way up north of the Wall because how the hell else would he have a fuck ton of industrial weight chain on hand to yank a dead dragon out of the bottom of a frozen lake. You went with it! You said okay! This is no different except there are no more episodes. So just say, "It ended," and, "It was lightning in a bottle." Lightning-in-a-bottle TV shows are so rare and special and "Games of Thrones" was one of the best ever for this and so many other reasons.
[Examples of lightning-in-a-bottle show endings: "Lost," which pissed people off because what everyone said about the island in season one was correct; "Breaking Bad," which tied up every story line, including and especially, that of Walter White himself.
Say what you want, when Drogon flew off with Dany, he ate her. Sorry, but Dany herself said, "Anything they want," when Sansa asked what dragons eat. She was not going to come back from the dead; Drogon knew it and melted the Iron Throne to a molten flow on her behalf. (He was right. That shit was ugly and hard on the ass.) He flew off to eat her carcass in peace. She was his mom but, hey, food's food and this was still warm. And afterward, the new leaders of Westeros wanted to know where Drogon was and not "what did he do with the body?" They all knew -- dinner had been served.
Regarding the pool at work? I came in 4th overall! I won no prizes but it was nice to be toward the top of the pack of a GoT Frequent Guesser Club.
